I am currently not working at this time so I will tell you about my most recent job. I was employed at Comcast for the last three and a half years. I started working for Comcast October 5, 2009. I don't regret my experience I endured while working there. but I certainly wish I had grounds to work in a better department. I started out as a Customer Account Executive located in Alpharetta, Ga. This particular department I handled calls for the billing department. Customer whom had billing issues or questions about their balance would be routed to me. I would pull up their account by phone number they gave and verify that I was speaking to the account holder by asking the appropriate questions. We would go over the entire statement together is necessary. I stayed in this department for one year and transferred to Decatur, Ga. to work in the repair department.
Moving to the repair department brought me closer to home for my drive to work. I was then driving 26 miles one way verse the 54 mile drive to Alpharetta. In this department you basically assist customers over the phone with problems with there service ex.(no picture on TV). I stayed in this department for a year and a half. I decided I was not happy with taking calls over the phone anymore due to irate customers yelling all the time and I suffer from migraines. I then transferred to the payment center, front counter. I was still in Decatur just around the corner from the call center in what we called a cable store. Everything was great until four months after I started Comcast fired my manager and replaced her with the wicked witch from the west. They also took $1.02 per hour from my hourly pay and changed my job title from Payment center lobby rep to Sales Rep. I hate sales and never applied for sales. They made superficial goals which were hard to make(14 home phone sales in 30days). Most people don't want home phones due to cell phones and its cheaper.
Long story short, I was terminsated due to not making all the monthly goals given maybe missing one by a few. The boss started writing me up(two write ups) then I was fired May 16,2013. I wanted to attend school the entire time I was employed with Comcast, but I got too comfortable and didn't want to change my schedule. Now that I am free, what better time without any excuse to get my Bachelors in Business Administration. No more working with the little people as they say, I will be in corporate office next time.
